Who we are looking for:

We are actively seeking a compliance internal control specialist with skills in Quality and Information Security to join our team.  Kerv (who cloudThing are part of) will be providing a central governance and compliance function to its existing divisions and new divisions acquired as the group grows.  The role will involve helping to set up internal compliance procedures, conducting internal audits, assisting divisions with their external accreditation audits, helping to improve the group governance functions and achieve new compliance standards as a route to operational excellence, sustainability and future growth.

The successful candidate will work closely with the existing compliance officer as part of a new central governance team.  You will be expected to be one of the central, authoritative voices for Kerv quality, information security and privacy management systems and use this knowledge to help the organisation grow and each of its divisions achieve compliance.

Required Experience: 

Candidates will need to demonstrate experiences with;

  • Working with businesses of different levels of maturity within their compliance and systems and accreditations
  • Excellent communication and diplomatic skills in brining divisions up to speed
  • Creating internal audit procedures
  • Maintaining and improving quality and information security management systems, ideally within a software-development/technical organisation or cloud based business
  • Coordination of compliance monitoring activities across the business, appointed representatives and external agents
  • Completing compliance monitoring reviews and audits based on the agreed audit schedule and other requirements as they arise
  • Design and implementation of compliance education programmes including delivering management and new starter training
  • Assessing the potential impact of any regulatory development on the operation of the business
  • Potentially assisting customers with their own compliance objectives via consultancy
  • Guiding the assessment and writing of new policies and practices to support growing areas of the business
  • Assisting with risk-based planning including data protection impact assessments
  • Assisting with the identification and introduction of new management systems
  • Attending industry events to identify emerging standards and trends to ensure the organisation stays at the forefront of the industry
  • Other tasks as reasonably requested

Candidates are expected to have all of the following skills;

  • Demonstrable knowledge of ISO 9001, 27001 and EU GDPR
  • Precise and effective maintenance of documentation and registers
  • Development/maintenance of quality and security metrics
  • Identification of activities to help minimise security risks
  • Ability to drive new policies for security behaviours
  • Clear commercial awareness, ideally as a service provider/consultancy foundational technical awareness

Candidates are expected to have some of the following skills;

  • Demonstrable knowledge of Cyber Essentials, PCI DSS, ISO22301, BS10008 or ISO20000/ITIL
  • Leveraging Dynamics, SharePoint or other MS technology to assist with compliance
  • Guiding the development of products to assist with compliance objectives
